Social Justice in Cambodia
Based here in Indy, World Next Door is kind of like a travel magazine:except that it focuses on the social justice issues that you won't find in a tourist brochure. It's like an investigative newspaper that is filled with the everyday experiences of Christians fighting poverty, AIDS, and trafficking. Teams of writers embed with partner ministries, live with host families, and write to inspire suburban Americans to engage in the work God is doing around the world.
Basically, it's everything I love rolled into
one. And God has given me a chance
to be part of it! I'm excited out
of my mind!
For two months, I and six other team members
are going to Cambodia to research and write about Center for Global Impact's
career training programs. We'll be
living with host families in Battambang and Phnom Penh, where byTavi, Green
Mango Café & Bakery, and the Daughters Project teach culinary and
seamstress skills to at-risk women.
Through our writing, we will have the opportunity to detail our
experience and share ways to get involved to countless readers in the United
States. It's going to be
amazing!
