<div>Looking at me, you might not see the silent struggles that I've had to endure; or the sleepless nights, pondering through uncertainty with as much grace and strength as I can muster. Needless to say, I've cried, prayed, rejoiced over small victories, and fought to stay hopeful in moments that felt impossible to bear.

<div>Anyone who knows me would describe me as the effervescent Dina,
</div>
<div>who for years, have been pouring energy into helping others through philanthropic and volunteering endeavors -- and now, here I am today being the one in need of help.
</div>

<div>In October 2020, after a breast biopsy, I received a diagnosis that turned my world upside down
</div>
<div>— <strong>breast cancer.</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>I cried a cry that no one could hear - quietly, pitifully, but deeply. I felt alone. I felt terrified, but I refuse to be a victim of circumstance - and instead, choose to create a path of meaning and purpose.

</div>
<div>Since then, I've literally been fighting for my life - maneuvering this disease on my own and have been infusing various healing modalities, trying to savor my health into recovery. However, the past 2 years have been virtual hell due to extenuating circumstances, along with the proliferation of chronic physical, psychological and emotional distress that have exacerbated the disease. Herein lies my transient ´effervescence´ - just fizzing away into memories of the past!

<div>During these last couple years, I've undergone a plethora of imaging examinations (Brain CT, MRI, PET CT, Bone CT, Breast Ultrasound etc.) to help determine the type of cancer, the stage, and whether it has spread throughout the body. It is being described as an ER/PR and HER2-Positive Breast Cancer and I'm terrified of having to suffer systemic treatment of any kind, fearing that there might be further collateral damage than cure itself.

<div>A 2024 axillary (lymph node) biopsy has rendered even further complications -- lymph node metastasis and regional spread of the disease. The axillary biopsy also left me with nerve damage and immobility to the left arm and shoulder - causing excruciating pain, sleepless nights, and difficulty performing daily tasks and exercise. This additional trauma now requires intensive therapy.

<div>✨Fast forward to present day, I'm beginning a 16+ week holistic and integrative cancer treatment program in Florida, United States, which could possibly be extended for an additional 4 weeks. This integrative approach is intended to optimize my immune system, reduce side effects, and restore quality of life. It is to help bridge the pillars of my well-being – emotional, physical, spiritual, and nutritional – creating an unwelcome environment for the cancer to proliferate.

<div>I am committed to doing everything I can to thrive and live a life that is pleasing to the Divine Creator. Without the uneasiness of this disease and every discomfort that comes with it, I get to remain on earth for the people I love and continue to amplify organizations that are creating meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable groups, through various project initiatives. I will also continue to passionately volunteer my time and effort to assisting those in need.

<div>Unfortunately, I am not in a position to take on this debt-ridden journey alone, as treatments are at an outpatient clinic and <strong>not covered by insurance</strong>; and the fact that the costs associated with accommodation, daily travels, meals, supplements, and supportive care - are quite overwhelming.

This will give me the chance to focus on healing and recovery.
