Todd's Brain Needs Some Love

In March 2013, Todd went to the ER because he suddenly couldn't see straight or hear out of his right ear.  He was admitted to the hospital after a CAT scan revealed a spot on his brain (photo below), and then underwent an MRI, full body scan and multiple neurological assessments.  He was released a few days later without a diagnosis, because there was too much blood and swelling on his brain to get a clear picture.

He'll have another MRI when the swelling goes down (at which time his hearing and vision should also return to normal), and we'll hopefully get results from the neurologist at his appointmenet on May 1st.  The best case scenario is that an abnormal vein spontaneously bled and is clearing up on its own.  They can't yet rule out, however, that a tumor underneath the blood may have caused the pressure in the first place.

Todd hasn't been able to work since March, and the emergency assistance for rent, food, bills, etc. is not available due to lack of funding.  He's in the process of applying for MN Care, which should be able to cover some of his hospital bills.  With all that said, this is quite the financial hardship. 

As Todd's girlfriend who has seen him every day throughout this, I can attest to the strength of character he's displayed in terms of maintaining a positive attitude, taking it one day at a time, and managing his health, logistics, and finances as best he can.  But, he needs help.  My hope is that we can all come together to support him in this, be it through words of encouragement or a financial gift.
