Medical Bills and Support

I'm looking to raise funds to help my brother and parents through this rough time that lies ahead. Brandon (age 24) had a seizure for the first time on Sunday. After being rushed to the emergency room, they found what they believed was a small sized tumor in his brain. He was quickly transferred to a hospital capable of handling his tumor. Once there, they discovered the tumor was actually golf ball sized. The tumor was sitting on an area of the brain that affects speech and motor skills. And because the tumor was hemorrhaging, the neurologist decided surgery needed to be done sooner rather than later. After undergoing surgery today, my brother has not woken up yet and the hospital discovered that his tumor was not benign as they hoped, but rather is malignant. He has been diagnosed with Malignant Glioma, an aggressive cancer that often returns. Yet what's more unfortunate is my brother doesn't know yet as he hasn't woken up yet.

My brother is one of the most caring people you will every meet and would give the shirt off his back for anyone. He is a loving, happy person who has lived his life as so. I couldn't imagine this happening to anyone, much less a person as good as my brother. My family is staying strong and remaining as optimistic as possible. Again, I'm trying to help raise funds to reduce the stress load on my family and help them pay for unexpected costs, as they have been at the hospital with my brother non-stop since the seizure.

Thank you to everyone who has sent their well wishes and prayers for Brandon. We hope he pulls out of this and maintains his stubbornness to beat the s#%@ out of this cancer.

Update: 4/17/13
Brandon woke up this morning and was able to talk, although groggy. He is coherent and understands what happen. One of the hardest parts of today for my family was breaking the news to him that the tumor was malignant. Brandon took the news as good as one can expect, but he is determined as ever to beat this and come out on top! Brandon has shown his courageousness and amazing fighting spirit that we all know him to have. He has been able to move both sides of the body and also able to eat some food, all good signs. We will learn more tomorrow morning on the stage of the tumor and more precise plans for treatment from here on out. Thanks again for the continued support.

Update: 4/18/13
Brandon was able to get up out of bed today and walk around the ICU today. Its a positive sign. He will still have to stay in the hospital for a couple days minimum. Hoping to get him to bumped down from ICU to a regular admin bed. We will continue to post the updates as they come. Thank you
