Keep pregnancy care local! Save the Waupaca Labor and Delivery unit.

The board of ThedaCare Waupaca made the decision to close the labor and delivery unit in February 2025. Our community deserves to continue to have high-quality care for pregnancy in Waupaca. We are respectfully asking the boards of ThedaCare-Waupaca and Froedtert ThedaCare Health Inc. to reverse this decision and keep labor and delivery in Waupaca.

We are raising money to help with this effort. After the unit is closed, any funds will be donated to help local pregnant people with the cost of transportation to appointments and to help defray medical or midwifery expenses. Any money left over from this campaign will be donated to March of Dimes (https://www.marchofdimes.org/maternity-care-deserts-report) and other organizations devoted to reducing obstetric care deserts in the United States.

Funds raised so far have supported advertising in our local media, printing costs for flyers, postage for mailing petitions, and other costs related to the effort to save the Labor and Delivery unit at ThedaCare-Waupaca.
