Izzy's Back Surgery Fund

I'm a Mom on a very limited income, raising an Autistic son and providing a loving home for our pet Dachshund, Izzy. I was devastated when Izzy suddenly had difficulty with her back legs and I rushed her to the emergency vet. Just paying for that visit, the xrays and the bloodwork was overwhelming, but I was in tears when I found she urgently needed surgery so she could walk and live pain free! I could not imagine how I could save my little girl, but then I found help through groups like Paw Prints Foundation and hope from groups like Almost Home Dachshund Rescue.

Izzy had surgery April 15th and the Doctor said she does have motor function in both back legs which is awesome & they think because of that she should be able to urinate on her own. She should be able to come home soon. It will be a long road to recovery, and my young son doesn't understand why his Izzy can't come play in the yard, but we have hope now that she will someday!

I now have the daunting task of raising funds to pay for saving Izzy's life. Update: 4/18/2013



Izzy came home from the hospital on Wednesday and she's doing great! She's on very strict bed-rest right now but the Vet showed me how to do her physical therapy which I do three times a day. Thank you all for your support in helping me save my baby girl!
