Viola Vargas Memorial Scholarship
The Viola Vargas Memorial Dance Scholarship Fund was created in April 2012 in loving memory of Viola Vargas who passed away suddenly after suffering for years with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Diabetes. Joanna created this scholarship fund to assist dancers from Jayvee Dance Center with their competition tuition and registration fees so that they may attend their annual summer dance class tuition and summer dance workshop.
Viola Vargas loved all the dancers from Jayvee Dance Center and was their biggest fan and cheerleader! She would attend every competition side-by-side with Joanna and cheer on the dancers as they graced many performance stages from city to city. She would also anonymously donate full dance scholarships to random dancers at Jayvee Dance Center. She wanted every talented dancer to gain the benefits of dance training that her daughter Joanna received, even if he/she could not financially afford it.
Joanna's goal is to keep her Mom's generosity and heart alive and thriving through the dancers that will benefit from the memorial scholarship created in her memory.
