No arms, one leg, and big dreams. Help!

Donation protected

How does a poor kid with no arms and one good leg become a pilot? I don't know :.. but I'm going to try :. because it's my dream :. and only a quality high school education will help make this happen! My name is Brian and I am 14 years old. I live in Kenya and I have really big dreams. Please take a moment to get to know me at this link: NTV.

I must  raise US$ 25,000 over the next four years to supplement a partial tuition waiver at Juja Senior School, a private high school in Kenya. They are the only high school that took a chance on me and gave me the opportunity to prove myself amongst able peers. I am the only student at my school that is "differently able." I am therefore a "˜test' case in mainstreaming, equity and inclusion of disabled children in regular school. Already I am giving the other students a run for their money. This term I ranked in the top quartile of my class. I work really hard and I am a good student. I will use the funds raised to pay my school fee balance over the next 4 years, provide for e.g. adaptive technology and pay Joseph, my personal care attendant who helps feed me and take me to the bathroom.

A quality education is my only pathway out of poverty and into my future in which I fly planes, live independently and support my mum in her old age. She is a single parent and I am her only child. She has always been there for me "“ I love her and I want to make her proud. I do not want to depend on her for the rest of her life. I want to be able to take care of her and I know I will make it :. with your prayers, your goodwill and your donations ..... I will make it! Please help me to stay at Juja Senior School. Should I surpass my fundraising goal, trust that I will honor your gifts, extending the love that you have shown me to my friend Philip and other differently-abled children in my community. I thank you so much for reading this and may God bless you all.

Brian

This appeal is made on my behalf by Nguhi Muturi from Rowlett, Texas. She and her friend Grace Lozano spent some time in Kenya in June 2012 getting to know me and my friends and sharing my dreams. They made a short video called "Glimpse of Brian" which you can view HERE. Much love Nguhi & Grace.
