Former X-Men basketball star Guy Mbongo ("˜93) needs your help.
Many people will remember that Guy Mbongo was instrumental in St. F.X.'s first national men's basketball championship in 1993. He poured in 26 points against the University of Calgary in a tough, three-point semifinal victory.

In March 2013, Guy and his family were displaced from their home
as a result of the overthrow of the civilian government in Bangui, Central African Republic. Several months later, the situation in the capital is still uncertain and looting as well as violence continues across the country.

The St. F.X. community and others are trying to raise funds to support Guy and his family through this difficult time period with a goal of providing them with assistance to re-establish their lives.

A fund has been established by supporters of the St. F.X. X-Men basketball program to help Guy and his family through this period of transition (please see below). Any contribution, large or small, would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, the St. F.X. Athletic Department and the graduating class of 1993 and 1994 will launch an awareness campaign during the fall and winter of 2013-14.

We hope that you can help Guy and his family through these challenging circumstances.

Sincerely,
Members of the St. F.X. basketball community
