Baton Rouge Flood Victim

Donation protected
Mrs. Levie Dutsch (Lee-V, Dutch), Age 74, lost her home & vehicle due to the flooding in Baton Rouge on Saturday/Sunday! She and her husband (who passed away in 2010) bought the house in 1970. Mrs. Dutsch has car insurance (car will be replaced by this) and homeowners insurance, but not flood because she wasn't in a flood zone. She had never had water higher than the sidewalk. Water got 19" inside her home. All furniture, bedding, appliances (fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven), outdoor equipment, shoes, purses were destroyed. She evacuated on an East Baton Rouge Parish school bus at 4:30 on Saturday..the waters came so quickly she couldn't drive her vehicle out. Mrs. Dutsch is currently staying at her church mission house until she can get back into her home. Any money you can give will be so greatly appreciated and needed. All funds will be withdrawn by her daughter, Ellen Beasley, and given directly to Mrs. Dutsch and used for the repairs and replacement of items damaged/ and or lost in the flood.
About the Fundraiser:
My name is Lyndsay Andrews out of Lumberton, TX and I am friends with Ellen, Mrs. Dutsch's daughter. Ellen is the kind of person that is so welcoming and always has a smile on her face. Today when I spoke with Ellen, her normal smiling face was in tears when I asked her how she was doing. She started to explain to me what her family was going through, and I began to relate. Earlier this year my brother lost his home due to a house fire. Immediately my friends and family came together and gave money and gift cards to help him without me asking. I was in shock with the selflessness and generosity they displayed during such a vulnerable time towards someone they had never met, but only knew he was my brother. When I spoke with Ellen today, I felt God put on my heart to help her precious mom, just like my brother was helped in his time of need for him.
