Since moving back to Houston last winter, Marinas has helped to look after Clara and Mia. Through the experience, she has become a part of our family.
Marinas and her husband moved to US to escape the current political situation in Venezula. They left Venezula with nothing and have built their life in Houston over the past few years. Marinas was a project engineer and her husband was a lawyer in Venezula. Their goal is to go back to their old professions here in the USA.
Marinas and her husband were evacuated from their 1st floor apartment Sunday morning at 4am in chest deep water due to the excessive amounts of rainfall that Harvey brought to Houston. They lost basically everything and are having to start over.
Houston is currently full of people who need help from the devastation that Harvey has brought to the area. It can be overwhelming at times but we have chosen to focus our efforts to help someone that has made a lasting impact on our family and who has $0 flood insurance. There is no doubt in our mind that Marinas would do the same for our family if the situation was different.
There is nothing that we can do to erase the tramatic experience that Marinas has gone through but we can do our best to help her and her husband start over on the right foot. All proceeds will go directly to her and her husband via a check from us (lost her computer in the flood) to begin the rebuilding process.
