Don't lose hope

My journey began on September 21, 2017,  when I was diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal Cancer. Colorectal Cancer develops in the intestinal gland cells that line the inside of the colon and/or rectum is an adenocarcinoma. CT scans show it has spread to my distant organs and tissues, including large masses in my liver, lungs, peritoneum and to distant lymph nodes. I am currently awaiting at PET scan due to sugar levels.

At only 38, this wasn't supposed to be happening. I sincerly apologize for my silence, as this diagnosis has come as a shock. Fortunately, due to my great family and friends, as well as my faith, know that God is in control and he doesn't make mistakes. My treatment is going to require many months of strong chemotherapy, to slow down and potentially shrink the spreading cancer. I’ve been told surgery is not an option at this point. It's more quality of life. I have a long and difficult road ahead but with youth and strength there's nothing that will keep me from beating this.  

Due to my advanced diagnosis and the intensity of the treatment and side effects, I am currently unable to work. I have been awarded Social Security benefits, but due to government statutes, am subject to a five-month waiting period. I have set up this Go Fund Me page to humbly request your assistance with what I realize is going to be a financial hardship on me. I would like to end this by saying please go get screened. Let this be a wakeup call to everyone, no matter how physically fit you may feel or seem. This is real and is becoming more and more common among the younger generations.
