The Unforgotten Haven located in Blackwood, NJ is a Non profit 501C3 (Fastest Growing 501C3 in New Jersey)! We provide FREE OF CHARGE clothing, toiletries, housewares, non perishable food to low income families, domestic violence victims, house fire victims, veterans and anyone in need. We also have a homeless outreach that goes out each weekend to provide food and clothing to those who have been left on the streets. Last week we had many families coming in that wanted to pull clothing to send to their loved ones down in Louisianna! They all offered to take it and pay for shipping. The Unforgotten Haven has been so Blessed with donations (50 to 100 Bags A Day) we decided we should try and post for a box truck on our facebook page to send donations down to Louisiana. After 600 shares on facebook in two days we did not get a box truck. However we got and airplane instead to get donations to a residence in Louisana!! That was huge for us!!!! The Garden State Rotary, Spartan World Wide and C.M.I are sponsoring $1,000.00 to ship the items. Here is where the funds are needed. We ended up with a 26ft truck instead of a 17 Foot Truck. The donations are rolling in and we do not want to put a hold on the collections. We want to pay to ship everything on the plane! There is so much need down there right now. We also have a team of 10 to 15 of us that want to go down to diburse the donations to make sure it gets to those in need. Holman has offered a 15 Passanger van at cost. $735.00 for the week with mileage included!!!!! So we need to raise funds for that plus gas tolls, overage of shipping donations (since we got way more donations then anticipated). We also may need hotel rooms but we do not want to say that is definite because most of the rooms are booked!! However our Team does not care. Have you ever heard of GLAMPING? Well we are gonna put a new spin on that word. If need be we will sleep in someones garage down there. Nothing stops us!!! We are all volunteers at The Haven and nobody gets paid (Not The Board members not the team members). We all work full time jobs. As you can see this is a very complex trip with many levels that has transpired in only a few days! Our Truck has almost filled in two Days. Collections have come from all over the state of New Jersey and still rolling in at this time. If you want to support and amazing organization here is your chance! Our passion is there. We are not just sending the donations. We want to be hands on to help in this time of need!!! We paid for the uhaul to act as a storage unit out back of our building just so everyone could be a part of this amazing GIVE BACK Opportunity!
