Lance's Fight

Lance Stringer is an amazing down to Earth man. He lives a simple life with his wife, Kari Degeyter Stringer, and 14 year old son, Holden. He is part owner of Impulse Fishing rods and his wife is a second grade teacher. He is one to always offer help to others. He is not one to ask for help for himself. That is why I am creating this page for him.

 November of 2018 Lance was diagnosed with Leukemia. He also had a severe infection that required surgery. At that time he had no insurance and found himself with medical bills piling up to around 100,000.  In January he got insurance so he could began treatments at MD Anderson. Because of a deficiency, Lance is not able to receive traditional chemotherapy. He receives a targeted action chemotherapy in pill form, but recently he was told it is not working well enough. His bone marrow is now over 95% Leukemia and the medication can’t reach the marrow. At the end of October he started monoclonal antibodies by IV to lower his white blood cell count. After several immediate treatments, he will need to continue them monthly until further notice.  His Chemotherapy medication could possibly cause long term damage to his heart and/or secondary cancers. At this time we are told he cannot be cured, but he can manage it. He is continuing to fight his cancer and place his trust in God. He has an amazing support group that is a God send offering words of encouragement and prayers.

His journey is not only physically draining at times, it is also emotionally and financially difficult. Even with everything they are facing, Lance and his family have such a positive attitude. Their strength is brought on by their faith. They believe that one day they will use their story to help someone else.
