This is about my husband. He has been in the Philippines for several years working mostly in agriculture. He built a small pig farming business, that was doing well. In July, a contract to purchase land to put all the pigs on one property, instead of two, started a dream. Within a couple of weeks all the pigs were dead and 1000s in the surrounding areas were also.
With Covid19, there is a lockdown and little movement of anything. Chris (my husband) has no animals, no income, high blood pressure, sleeplessness, asthma attacks and to top it off, he has been asked to move out of his flat, even when the landlord has praised him for consistently paying his rent on time and being a model tenant. We have been waiting close to 3 years for immigration papers for him to come to Canada, which are in limbo now due to Covid19
He has been a positive member of the community, always willing to help others with a car ride, some pesos, a pig for a wake or a bag of rice for a starving family. He also hires locals for small jobs or regular animal care.
He is well respected in the pig farming community in Luzon.
He is a Godly man, with a strong faith which is being sorely tested. He is down hearted, distraught and at the end of his rope.
The picture is of brighter times, 3 years ago, when I visited Manila. That face is lined and drawn now.
Please help get him a foundation to begin over with. To make the next payment on the land being bought and to buy ducks for farming and the egg sales. To put gas in the car so he can transport feed and purchase fence building supplies.
