Power to Change WA - Flight Costs
Power to Change (formerly Student Life /Campus Crusade for Christ Australia) in Perth, Western Australia (WA) have a vision that it would be impossible for any of the 100,000 students in WA to graduate without having heard a compelling presentation of the gospel.
God is truly at work in the West. We have been celebrating a 20-strong group of students from WA which recently ventured to Sydney to take part in our Power to Change National Mid-Year Conference (NMYC). These students have returned full of enthusiasm to share their faith at university, continue to grow in their relationship with God and stay connected with one another. One such student, Sally*, was so impacted by God speaking to her through Power to Change and NMYC, that she yielded her life to Christ not long after NMYC ended. This is just one of the many transformative stories we have been excited to hear of recently.
How might you be able to get involved in propelling God’s work through Power to Change?
Our hope is to enable up to twelve WA students to attend a two-week Power to Change Summer Mission project in Sydney this December (1st - 15th).
Throughout the two weeks of SummerSalt Sydney , WA students will share the gospel with young adults in Sydney’s beaches, parks, pubs and clubs, as well as making new friends, developing community with believers and growing in their spiritual disciplines, ultimately providing memories and lessons lasting a lifetime.
The aim is that it might empower our campus movements (and beyond) in WA in 2017 as our students return with renewed passion, leadership skills and more. SummerSalt Sydney is a vital step for us. Partnering with Power to Change in Sydney means that we can sublet much of the leadership and organization of the project east, thus allowing Power to Change WA to focus our limited energies towards SummerSalt recruitment and ongoing campus gospel outreach.
WA Students are working hard to raise $1,000 per person for their in-project costs. However, on top of this, our Perth missionary team is seeking to raise $4,000 from donors (matched equally by Power to Change Campus Strategy National) to provide FREE flights for our students to Sydney. Sydney is a long way from Perth, but free flights provide an avenue to communicate how much we value both our students and this special training and growth opportunity.
