Justice's Insulinoma Surgery

Donation protected

My dog, Justice, was diagnosed with an insulinoma, an insulin-secreting pancreatic tumor, back in March. I started this GoFundMe at that time to fund-raise for his surgery in which they removed 2/3 of his pancreas (pre-procedure blood sugar was 27mg/dL - VERY low). The surgery was successful in that they were able to get the tumor out, but a biopsy of his liver showed that unfortunately it had already spread. His symptoms are now being managed with medications. One of these medications is diazoxide, which must be compounded (i.e., made especially for Justice by a pharmacist) and is therefore $200/month on his current dose; this will increase as the dosage increases.

While going to a veterinary surgery specialist was not possible due to their costs, I understood that the surgery was his best option; hence his regular vet agreed to perform the surgery and I put the cost on my credit card. With the additional costs of working towards paying off his surgery and his monthly meds, I have drained my savings and am currently running a negative balance every month.

I know that Justice will eventually die from this, but with lifestyle changes and medication it could be a a year or more, and most importantly he's still HAPPY!

All funds will go to Justice's surgery costs and related expenses. If excess funds are raised I will donate them to the rescue organization Justice was adopted from.

Any and all help would be appreciated; Justice is my best friend, (former) running partner, and family.

This was only the surgery. Prior to this were diagnostic visits, pre-op testing, follow-up appointments, and of course his daily medications.
