Fred's Transplant Donation

Donation protected
My name is Arianna and I am the daughter and creator of this account for my father, Alfredo (Fred). My dad was hospitalized in June. He experienced jaundice, swelling of his legs, unexplained bruising and body aches. He was in the hospital for 1 week. In that time he had recieved 2 blood transplants, ultrasound scans and ALOT of blood work. His blood levels were still below "normal" after the transfusions but stable enough. The ultrasound showed he has some fluid leaking inside his abdomen but are not 100% sure where it was comming from. They were going to attempt to extract the fluid but were worried they would have punctured something else internally.  The final diagnosis was Cirrohsis of the liver. His liver is hardly working.  The hospital wants to place him on the liver transplant list but he needs to be sober for 6 months.  That 6 months is up in November. He was released and had many follow up appointments with different doctors, PCP's, Gastroenterologist, Hematologists, Pyschologist, etc. During those visits he was always required to provide more blood work. He was managing on a day by day basis at home.  On August 30th he woke up being very dizzy, unable to walk, and his stomach was 85% bruised. I had taken him to the hospital and he has already had 4 blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, more blood work, they had started dialysis because they also discovered his kidneys are "next to nothing", but the liver is the main priority.  The bruising is due to internal bleeding. He is bleeding into a muscle. He also has a condition that makes him have a hard time to coagulate. He is in the CCU (Critical Care Unit). I made this account because he does not have any health insurance. He lives off of disability and Medicaid denied him stating he makes "too much" money.  He is not eligible for Medicare until November (it will of been 2 years since his first disability payment). If he were to of been on an affordable care insurance his premium would of been a riddiculous cost not even taking the doctors he has already had been established with for years. He has had to pay cash pay for every doctor visit, blood draw order and now we have many hospital bills. If his body can get stronger with dialysis, they want to refer him to the transplant team and can HOPEFULLY push him through sooner. He will need a transplant if he can make it that far, his body is literally shutting down and getting very tired. He has 4 children and 3 grandkids, the youngest being old 7 weeks old. He also has his mother, sisters, brothers, cousins , aunts and uncles and many friends. It is so hard for me to see my dad in this position because my entire life he has been the rock and strongest person of our family. To see him in this type of condition is heart breaking. Photo will be updated. ANYTHING, even $1 truly  with all of his medical bills. Thank you.
