Saving for 2nd bone marrow transplant

Donation protected

A social worker at MD Anderson suggested today, that I set up a page here.  Since I always do as I'm told (*winks*), here goes:

On the upcoming anniversary of my first bone marrow transplant at MD Anderson, I may be receiving my second one, if another matching donor can be identified.  The donor cells were fully engrafted, but somehow did not hold together.  Next, my Leukemia came back with a vengeance, necessitating more inpatient chemotherapy.  I am 67 years old, and had to retire due to my illness.  My wife, who is my primary caregiver, also has serious health issues.  She has had to suspend her private counseling practice in order to care for me. Fortunately, Medicare and Supplemental Insurance covers most of our medical bills; however, the radical decrease in our income is making it impossible to keep up with the cost of travel, lodging, etc., connected to my ongoing treatment.  We had to live in Houston for about 5 months last year, and were able to survive financially through the generosity of loved ones.  Circumstances limit their ability to help a second time around.  We are hoping that people who read this might be led to donate to my second chance for survival from this life-threatening disease.  My wife and I have been married for almost 45 years, and hope to celebrate our 50th anniversary together with our 2 children and 7 grandchildren.  We have seen evidence that God is in control, and we trust that He has the supply before we have the need. Thanks to all who read this.  Whether your support is financial, emotional, or spiritual, we thank you in advance.
