The Williams Family

I’m a firm believer that when someone truly needs help, it's the time to come together & show love and support. The Williams family have had a rough past couple of months & I want to help them during this time. Kory (the husband) went fishing on June 20th with some friends. His friend had a fish on the line, reeled it in and at that same moment Kory saw a crab. He asked his friend to grab the crab while he took over the friends pole that had the fish. Kory had no idea he already reeled the fish in & felt what he thought was a bite and snapped the pole back and the catfish flung up and hit him in the eye. The catfish had torn the side of his eye all the way from the front to the back. He had his first surgery to repair the tear and to place antibiotics because catfish are the nastiest fish in the ocean, as well as the fact that their spine has venom. He had doctor visits everyday for the first week after his surgery then was told to rest the second week. At the next doctor visit he was told his retina detached so he had to have another surgery. Once that was over he was 90% to lay on his right side. Only allowed to get up to eat and use the bathroom for 2 weeks. When he went back to the doctors his retina started detaching again but on the other side. He had an in office procedure done with cryofreeze and was put on his left side 90% for 2 weeks. Now he just found out his eye is not healing, the retina is still detaching and his eye is still leaking fluid. He goes next Friday for another surgery to get a buckle placed. Kory did not sign up for short term or long term disability at work so he is not being paid for all of this time he is missing at work. The doctor said the next surgery recovery time will be months long. He has no idea when or if he will be able to return to work. Kory is still employed with his job with the protection of FMLA but that ends next month so there's no telling if his job will be held until this all ends. Brooke cannot work because she is his in home nurse, as well as a stay at home mother for their 2 small children and recently got into the bachelor degree program. Kory has 3 different drops and an ointment to be put on his eye all throughout the day. He is unable to shower without her help. They have bills coming more and more everyday. He still has insurance as of now so they are only paying what the insurance doesn't which as of right now it's a little over $2000. Their in home bills are about $1500 a month. Kory's parents have been helping them financially through this time and his mother is even been working overtime. More than anything I want to be able to help take some of the financial burden off this family so they can focus on healing and getting through this difficult time. Thank you for your love & support and God Bless!
