Malheureusement, une personne malhonnête se sert de la levée de fond pour frauder les gens. SOYEZ TOUJOURS PRUDENT. Je suis l’organisatrice de cette levée de fond parce que je voulais aider Emile, il a été à mes cotés tout le long de l’organisation de la levée de fond puisqu’il n’est pas à l’aise avec l’informatique. <div>On se retrouve près de 8 mois plus tard, un rêve réalisé plus tard, 12 chimio plus tard, 4 semaines de rémission plus tard, des symptômes malheureusement familiers reviennent. Le jour de ses 20 ans, le 17 octobre 2022, Emile reçoit les résultats : récidive du cancer. Il sera hospitalisé le jour même puisque son état se dégrade rapidement. Faiblesses, douleurs, pression au thorax, les tumeurs reprennent de l’ampleur sur la vie d’Emile. Il faut agir vite.

<div>Quelques jours plus tard, Emile repasse sous le bistouri pour enlever une grappe de tumeurs près de son cœur, pour faire des tests plus précis qui permettrons d’en savoir plus sur les traitements possibles.

<div>Lors du premier traitement, Emile a reçu 12 chimio ABVD. Maintenant, on lui propose un traitement beaucoup plus agressif, mais aussi beaucoup plus difficile… On lui propose une chimio de type GDC avec une autogreffe de cellules souches.

<div>Ce traitement est la raison du pourquoi nous relançons la levée de fond. Le traitement devra être effectué en majeure partie à l’hôpital de Québec.

<div>Cela va impliquer plusieurs déplacements et hébergements à Québec, pour lui et ses parents. Cette fois ci, Emile ne pourra pas travailler lors des traitements, puisqu’il devra être hospitalisé pendant au moins un mois à Québec, si tout se passe comme prévu, puis 3 mois en isolement a la maison. Donc pour un minimum de 4 mois, Emile se retrouvera sans revenu. La première levée de fonds a entièrement servi à couvrir les dépenses reliées au cancer, comme l’essence pour les déplacements hors région, les hospitalisations, les journées maladies, les nombreux médicaments non couverts par ses assurances ou la ramq, dons les couts peuvent s’élever a plus de 800$ par mois.

<div>Sur une note plus positive, votre support a aidé Emile à terminer son cours de conduite de camionneur. Il a même pu commencer à essayer son nouveau métier. La maladie et les traitements ont fait qu’il n’a pas encore pu commencer à travailler à temps plein, mais il est tout de même très heureux d’avoir pu terminer son cours.

<div>On tiens à remercier Vincent Duchesne, un jeune garçon fan de hockey, qui par l’entremise de la première levée de fond, a aidé Emile à réaliser son rêve de voir un match des canadien de Montréal. Vincent a récolté des fonds pour aider à la cause, mais surtout pour pouvoir permettre à Emile de réaliser son rêve et lui redonner le sourire pendant sa chimio.

<div>We are now 8 months later, a dream that came true, 12 chemos later, 4 weeks of remission later, familiar symptoms are sadly coming back. Oh the day of his 20th birthday, October 17th of 2022, Emile receives his results : the cancer is back. He will be hospitalised that very same day cause his health is getting worst very quickly.  Weakness, pain, chest pressures, the tumors are getting momentum over Emile’s life. We need to act fast.

<div>Few days later, Emile is going back under the knife to take off a bunch of tumors close to his hearth to do more lab test so we know what the treatments options are. 
</div>

<div>During his first treatment, Emile received 12 ABVD chemos. Now, he is proposed a much more aggressive treatment, but also a lot more difficult. He is proposed a GDC chemo with an autologous stem cell transplant.
</div>

<div>This treatment is the reason why we are relaunching a fundraiser : the treatment has to be done at Québec hospital.  
</div>

<div>This will implies a lot of trips and staying at Québec city, for him and his parents. This time, Emile won’t be able to work during the treatment, cause he will need to be hospitalised for at least an entire month, maybe more, at Québec hospital, and then 3 more months of strict isolation at home for him and his mom too. So for at least 4 months, he and his mom will be without any incomes. The first fundraiser covered every expenses connected to the cancer , such as gasoline for the trips to Chicoutimi hospital, hospitalisations, drugs that were not covered by insurances or RAMQ , whose costs can be as high as 800$ per month.

<div>On a positive note, your support helped Emile to finish his truck driving classes. He even started to work in the field a bit. The cancer and treatments did that he could not work full time yet, but he is still very happy he did finish the driving classes.

<div>We want to thank Vincent Duchesne, a young hockey fan, who which through the first fundraising, helped Emile to make his dream of going to a Montreal’s Canadian hockey match came true. Vincent raised funds to help the cause, but mainly to get Emile to live his dream and give him his smile back during chemo.
