Project Jharana

Over the summer of 2011, we are constructing a water supply system from the nearest waterfall to the village of Nirmal Pokhari (western Nepal). Currently people from the village walk to the waterfall, which is 2 hours away, to get clean drinking water.

Our project has been selected from Brown as the Davis Project for Peace ($10,000). We are trying to raise around $4000 now so that we can make this project happen. Your contribution will make a difference in the lives of 3000 people; your contribution means that the people there do not have to walk to the waterfall (2 hours) and back with a bucket of water in their hand; your contribution would go a long way toward improving the lives of suffering people.

Please donate - whatever you can - so that one of the basic needs of this village can be met. Please send us an email: [email redacted] or [email redacted] if you would like to have a look at our project proposal or would like to know more about the project.

Thank you very much for your kind support.
