<div>As some of you know and many of you do not know, my sister Sophia was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. What started as stage 1 has now spread to her bones and lymph nodes. Her case is very rare and we are still struggling to wrap our heads around all of this. It is incredibly heartbreaking writing this because it all feels very surreal and is something that I never in a million years would have thought could happen. As anyone can imagine, this has been a very difficult time for us as a family to navigate. While it has been difficult, it has also been one of the most humbling times of our lives, and we have been overwhelmed by the immense amount of love and support we have received from family and friends. To those of you who have helped already in whatever ways you can—whether it be financially, getting us in contact with the right doctors, or offering emotional support and love—you have our deepest gratitude. We are forever indebted, and words will never be able to fully express how grateful we are. Your kindness, generosity, and care have been a lifeline, and we are so thankful.

<div>Sophia is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known but even so, with the stage she is at, the doctors say that her cancer is considered “incurable,” and she is now on drugs that will keep the cancer at bay and simply prolong her life. This is something she and the rest of our family will not accept. If there is anything I have learned in the time I have been on this Earth, it is that truly anything is possible and that miracles do happen. We are doing everything we can to get Sophia the best care there is, and we will continue to fight until she is in fact cancer-free.

<div>With that being said, the best care also comes with a high cost, one that despite our best efforts we cannot cover alone. While she is fortunate enough to have good insurance, it doesn’t cover all of the additional treatments that are needed to get to the root cause of this disease and for her to fully heal. For everyone who has had the pleasure to know Sophia you will know that her kindness is infectious and her soul shines very very bright. Although she may seem “fine” the very stark reality of it all is that she is literally fighting for her life-one that if we don’t do everything we can, will be ended far too soon. Because of this, we have started a GoFundMe to help my sister do whatever she needs to do to fight this and live a long and happy life~ one that we all deserve. Sophia is extremely selfless and would do anything for those that she loves or even a complete stranger- because of this she was very hesitant to ask for help in this way. However so many of you have reached out asking how you can help so we decided it was time to create a GoFundMe. Any amount, no matter how large or small, will be gratefully appreciated and will go towards getting her the best treatment possible. Donations will help fund physical therapy to keep her strong, a nutritionist and herbalist who are formulating supplements for her to help mitigate the effects of the drugs she is on and radiation, therapy for emotional support, healthy food, and funds to help cover the costs of travel to the best hospitals in and out of the country that may offer different approaches to treatment not offered by her current Oncologists and not covered by insurance.
