Missionary/Evangelism Training
As most of you know, mine and Brandon's heart is for mission work. Our lives have been busy the past few years! I went to graduate school. Brandon and I both got new jobs. Oh yeah, and we had a sweet baby boy! Life has started to slow down to a degree, and we have been asking God: What's next?
Last Friday, Mom was watching Reinhard Bonnke on TV, and she texted me at work and said: "You and Brandon have to apply for Reinhard's school of evangelism." I immediately knew we were supposed to and Brandon quickly agreed! So, Brandon and I applied right then, even though only 100 people get in. And: 3 days later, we found out we were accepted!
Brandon and I have known for years
that missions would be our "career" at some point. We are still waiting for the
right time. In the meantime, we continue to take small steps towards reaching
that dream. The next small step is definitely the school of evangelism. God
isn't confusing. He just usually doesn't give us the whole picture at once.
First of all, what fun would that be? Secondly, we need to trust Him over
ourselves.
We are going to Orlando, FL for a
week in May for the school. My mom has volunteered to go with us to keep Tillman
while we are in class. We are stoked about this because now our hearts don't
have to be in two places. We can truly focus and learn all He has for us. Going
wasn't a hard decision. When it comes down to it, Jesus laid it out simply for
us, didn't He? Love God, love others, and love ourselves. Nope, deciding to go
was easy. Paying for it however, is a challenge. The cost for just the school
is $1500 per person, not including gas, hotel, food, etc. If you can give a
little or a lot, it would be great!
