Help Baby Graham and his parents!

We are tired. So very tired. Life is simply not at all normal and seems to wear us out in ways we never imagined possible. Graham was having such a great day today that we thought he would have his oxygen removed completely, he would begin to try to nurse instead of being tube fed, and that he would be moved to a private room where we could stay overnight with him. All of these things began to unfold and then the two steps forward, two steps back earmark of the NICU took over.

He was learning to nurse and hadn't got the hang of it quite yet so they decided to put an OG tube in instead of the replogle they had removed an hour earlier. I left to go to the lactation room and when I returned 20 minutes later, there were a ton of nurses gathered around his bassinet and there was a doctor that had not been there before. I immediately got a sick feeling in my stomach and asked them what was going on as I approached. It turns out that when they placed the tube and then began the feeding that he aspirated and began to turn blue. They immediately got his oxygen mask and did some other interventions to get him breathing properly. They followed up with a chest and abdominal x-ray to make sure that the tube was placed correctly. It turns out that the tube was placed correctly and they are not sure exactly why he had that episode. That tends to make a momma nervous. We need the following things to happen in order for him to take some steps forward. Please agree with us in prayer for the following needs:

We want NO MORE breathing issues or desat episodes. (No aspirating)
Once he is cleared to attempt nursing again, that Graham begins nursing without any issues and gets exactly the nutrition he needs to grow and thrive.
He tolerates room air exactly as needed and has no need for oxygen support going forward.
He sleeps well and is rested but also that he has times when he is awake and alert and interacting with us.
Strong lungs, strong muscle tone, strong heart and fully functioning colon (ganglion cells). That every part of his body be 100% healthy and functioning perfectly.
Daddy & Mommy get some much needed sleep and time to process and decompress.
That our family members are super healthy and are able to come and visit Graham.
That we do not allow fear to rule our days. We pray for peace and calm in the midst of these storms.
We pray that God meets our financial needs and that our worry in that area is non-existent so that we can put every ounce of energy into baby Graham and his growth and recovery.

Humbly,

Graham's Mommy❤️
