One day at a time

We were planning like any parents for a regular pregnancy. Initially it started a little bumpy, Mom had some issues that put her in the high risk category. It was a little scary but we put a positive spin it and did our best to smooth down some of the complications. Over time things got more complicated. Mom made it to the second trimester and started to develop a severe case of Preeclampsia. It was affecting her kidneys and her liver.  The last week before delivery was awful. Mom could not hold down any food even food she liked. And when she did eat even a little it would induce vomiting for 10 minutes or more. Mom became dehydrated and very uncomfortable. On 8-12 Mom was admitted to to hospital and the next 12 hours she an baby Naomi was on the razors edge, so much so doctors where ready to perform an emergency C-section if Moms vitals did not ease up. In the next 12 hours there was slow but noticeable improvement in Moms blood pressure and chriatin levels. Over the next two days it was a slow but positive improvement but on 8-15 it was decided that Naomi needed to be delivered.  The risk to Moms kidneys and liver had hit a critical level. Naomi Ruth was delivered via C-section at 5:00pm on 8-15. She is at 25 weeks or 6 months currently. 1 pound 3 oz. She gave a little cry as she was brought into this world. Currently she is at the NICU at Centnnial Hills Hospital. The care here is amazing. I’m so grateful for the care for both Mom and Naomi the care providers here are true professionals. So far we take one day at a time. Stable is the word in the unit that is used. She has a long road ahead we are hoping for that road to be somewhat linear. Mom is doing fantastic. Slow steady improved progress. She is moving around and not so bedridden and if all is on the up and up hopefully she will be able to go home on 8/19.
