2Hands Helping Australia -  Bowlers Strike to help Champions Homeland

For over 3 months, Australia has been facing terrible devastation from wild fires burning out of control, destroying scores of cities and communities, and millions upon millions of wildlife losing their lives. With no end in sight, the massive flames have charred over 12 million acres across the country.

For most of us it’s a faraway place we hope to visit, but for Jason “BELMO” Belmonte, (Five Time PBA Bowler of the Year and All-Time Record PBA Title holder), Orange, NSW, Australia is where he and his family call HOME.

The scenes and stories coming out of AU are horrific. The amount of land that has been burnt, lives lost and millions of animals with nowhere to run is unimaginable.

“What is happening in my home country is horrific and heartbreaking,’ said Belmo.  ‘Cities and towns are being destroyed; people have lost every possession they’ve ever owned. It’s heart breaking.”

Last week, as the PBA season prepares to strike, Belmo pledged to donate $50 for every strike during the PBA FOX season. He DOUBLED it with a bonus of $100 per strike when making it to the televised final round on FOX.

“After making the pledge to donate for every strike I roll this PBA season, I was compelled to do more to help my country. We’ve started a GoFundMe campaign that will help families, fire fighters, the Koalas and all the animals all across AU.  With this account, it is my way of asking all of the bowling communities, the fans and my friends to help my country, by supporting our efforts in fighting the fires, and eventually rebuilding from this devastation”.

Our goal is to raise $150,000 to help support the overall efforts of “2Hands Helping Australia”.  There are two ways to donate to our page using Text messaging or Online.

It’s going to be a long rebuilding process, that will take years to return “back to normal” with many areas needing assistance.  With this fund and everyone’s help, we will be focusing on the recovery efforts in support including; Wires Australian Wildlife Rescue;  NSW Rural Fire Services; Red Cross AU.

“Thank you in advance for doing what you can to help my homeland”.  -  Jason Belmonte.
