Every little kid has a dream job when they grow up. For me, it was being a missionary. I always grew up wishing I was a missionary kid sharing God’s love in the safari of Africa. As I got older though, society told me I needed a “real” job that provided enough money for a comfortable life.

So I went to college on and off taking subjects that would hopefully spark an interest as a potential career. But none did. I still had an desire that drew me to the mission field. I wanted a life with purpose. A life outside the boundaries of the “American Dream”. I wanted to share what I believed with people all around the world and share with them the hope that has changed my life.

This April I was praying to God for direction. I didn’t know if I should move, continue college, or join the mission field. I felt God really put YWAM (Youth With A Mission) on my heart and I grew more and more excited. I was finally pursuing a path that had been on my heart since I was a child!

I applied to YWAM and started the process but was soon hit with doubts and fear. I had no money saved up and with two years left of a car payment there was no way I would be able to afford to go. So I gave into my doubts and decided not to go.

But God had other plans. Three weeks before the school I applied for started, I got a message from a friend in YWAM. She shared how much God provided for her and people she knew. She told me that finances were the last thing that should keep me from pursuing the path God has called me to. So I took a leap of faith.

I finished my application process and got accepted into the school! I had just enough money to buy a last minute flight and a visa. I was unable to sell my car but my uncle lent me the money to cover my car payments for the 6 months I was gone (totally a last minute God thing!).After 50+ travel hours with 24 hours in the LAX airport because my visa didn’t go through I made it to Australia. God has provided so much already just to be here and it has been a crazy journey of faith and trust so far!

I have never had to trust God 100% and because of that I have always been slightly independent from God. I have never had to rely on Him financially. But in this season He is asking me to completely rely on Him and His provision. So I am letting go of my pride and learning to trust in my Father for everything.

I still have tuition costs as well as the cost for outreach. My team and I are going to Nepal and we will be working with locals and sharing the gospel through skits and dances. We will be working with children as well as backpackers. I am so excited to see what God will do with and through our team as well as with the Nepali people.

I would love prayer as God and I are on this journey. If you would like to partner with me financially that would be such a blessing. I know that God will provide and I am excited to work with Him and see provision.
Thank you so much for reading my story. God bless!
