Crystal's Study Abroad Trip to Ghana

I'm traveling to Ghana, West Africa this May for a City and Regional Planning project through Ohio State. While there, I will visit multiple cities and towns, spending most of my time in the Offinso North District (OND).

OND is a very new, developing community within the Ashanti region of Ghana. The district was created in 2008 and is still undergoing extensive urbanization.

I will be applying the skills that I've developed through the Strategic Communication bachelor's program at the University to implement an electronic communication project for the district.

I have been creating and planning for this project since January through the university's City and Regional Planning program with the goal of improving the speed and efficiency of telecommunication among members of the OND community.

All contributions made through this page will be put toward my program fee, which includes international airfare, accommodations, local transportation, most meals, excursions, visa, and overseas supplemental insurance.

After I return from Ghana, I will complete my college career in August, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Communication, as well as a minor in Professional Writing.

Thank you in advance for supporting me in this educational endeavor. I anticipate that this program will provide me with experiences to broaden my horizons as a lifetime learner as I transition from the classroom into the professional world.
