I don’t talk much about my health issues, other than the occasional complaining about my back or the fact that blood-sugar issues are keeping me from my beloved Krispy Kream donuts. However, a few folks know that I’ve been dealing with a particularly worrisome health issue for the past year that has slowly been getting worse.

While a recent biopsy shows that the problem isn’t cancerous, it is an issue that will require me to have a procedure to keep it from developing into a life-threatening condition. Since I’m a single parent, avoiding this trip to the doctors isn’t an option.

Ordinarily, I’d keep something like this to myself, since I tend to be a fairly private person. But, this has been a rough year at the Lewis household and a number of issues have depleted my savings. So, I’m swallowing my pride and asking for help.

If you don’t know me, here is the scoop. I’m a single parent of four. I work in Nashville’s IT community. I’m a published author and I’m still hurt that Firefly was cancelled.

I’m not asking for massive donations, but any little bit that you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
