Not Without My Children

Whitney is a dear friend of mine whom is in need of help, prayers and hope. She is a wonderful person with a heart of gold that unfortunately got into a horrible situation. Below is her story, and we are hoping to be able to help her and her boys.

There is a mother, daughter, sister, and friend who needs our help. She is a young mother with two boys, and a story that is worth being heard. She went on a missionary program after finishing a year of school. She was sent to Mexico City to work with a team of three girls. Struggling with culture shock, a language barrier, and emotional strain she met a man at a local Starbucks where she would frequent to find moments of peace.
He quickly swept her off her feet with sweet gestures, promises, and the story that he had terminal cancer, and wanted to spend his last days with her. Claiming he was sterile and in love, she found herself pregnant and scared. Feeling trapped, she married him, and soon realized she was not with the man she thought she knew. His  affection soon turned to sexual, physical, and mental abuse. The money, kids, and she belonged to him. Her marriage to him of 5 years has been a survival of the worst kind. She was in regular contact with a American helpline for a woman in international abuse cases. Trapped by foreign policies, and corruption it took years to finally flee the country. Her husband has been one of the worst cases they have seen. He is not only a narcissistic, but he has a large influence in the country, working for the Mexican President in questionable duties. He also owns the largest music production in Mexico. Because of his controlling and manipulative nature, he was able to catch her numerous times trying to leave him, causing his abuse to escalate.
Even though that would feel like the worst of it, the true battle had just started when she crossed the border. She has been charged with kidnapping after fleeing for her life and the lives of her two boys. A year of hiding has passed. Now she is in the process of building a federal case to try to keep her boys away from the horrors she had lived in for so long. She has found haven in a women’s shelter in a remote town of Vermont.
Her case goes to court on March 12th and 13th . This is where you and I come in. By God’s grace, her lawyers are doing her case pro bono, but that doesn’t mean it’s free. Paying for the specialist, evaluators, court costs, and witness travel is costing roughly $80,000! Her family and friends are trying desperately to give what they can, but panic is setting in with the court date approaching. Anything you can give will help. Sending prayers, and what you can spare will help to keep this young mother and her two small boys out of harm’s way! Thank you for your time and prayers for reading this urgent plea for help. God Bless!

Her mother and father Connie and Tim Peterson are accepting the donations on her behalf. They are in charge of keeping things in line for court  and with her lawyers  .
