Jinotega, Nicaragua mission trip

I'm going to Nicaragua for 8 days/weeks. It just so happens that my wonderful in-laws are taking our sweet boys for the summer the exact weeks that the mission trip is offered. Having never been on a mission trip before, and having prayed about it in recent years, I took that as a divine opportunity to love on others (and to keep myself super busy as to not think about missing Christopher and Beckham so much.)  Going wasn't a hard decision. When it comes down to it, Jesus laid out a pretty simple religion for us. Love God, love others, and love ourselves. Nope, deciding to go was easy. Paying for it however, is a real challenge.

To be honest with you, Paul and I had not yet budgeted a $2000 mission trip fund when the opportunity arose. So, instead of selling my plasma 87 times, I decided to send letters to the people who support us most in life, family and friends. A little, a lot, any would be great. And if you want to know more about the trip, please let me know and I will give you a call. Please expect pictures and letters of the mission trip upon my arrival as well! 

We will be visiting and taking care of children in 2 separate orphanages upon arrival. My tasks will be to love on the kiddos, and give the missionaries, who live and breath working there, a break by taking over tasks and releasing their load, that God may rejuvenate their weary hands and hearts for all the labor they do around the clock. Also I will be doing minor dental work by cleaning and flossing the teeth of the children, and most importantly spreading the word of the love of Christ Jesus.
