Starting near the town of Cumberland, Maryland, our team will head east through the thick forests of the Appalachian Mountains. Around nightfall we will run through the quiet streets of many charming historic Civil War-Era towns, ultimately passing within the shadows of the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. The race will wrap up on the shores of the Potomac River at the National Harbor in Washington DC. This is a challenging running event to benefit The Healing Hands Foundation (THHF). In addition to the "Donate" button above, you can also make your contribution and support our team by making a donation via the THHF web site at: http://www.thhfoundation.org/Donate

About THHF:
A Baltimore, MD based foundation, THHF's mission of The Healing Hands Foundation is to sustainably provide high quality surgical procedures, medical treatment, dental care, and educational support in under resourced areas worldwide. We establish strong in-country partnerships to involve local communities in our activities: treating patients, improving health care infrastructure, and providing needed medical training to surgeons, doctors, and community health care workers. Going beyond providing direct patient care, we aim to create a long-term impact, empowering impoverished countries to improve the health and quality of life of their own people.
