Hi, my name is Shannon, though many online know me as Sugar. I am a single mother of three children, and this October 30th, I turn 33. This year is not just a birthday—it’s the beginning of Chapter 33, a new chapter of survival, healing, and hope.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which makes this especially meaningful. For over 12 years, I endured emotional, mental, physical, sexual, and financial abuse. This past September, my ex gave late notice that he would not be renewing our lease, forcing me to quickly find safe housing for myself and my kids. While we’ve secured a new place to live, transportation remains our biggest challenge.
The cover photo on this page is me and my three kids, along with my beloved Grandma who passed away in February. This photo reminds me of love, family, and the strength I carry as I step into this new chapter.
I currently have a protection order against my ex, which reflects the high-risk nature of the situation and the care needed to keep my children and me safe.
Right now, my ex has the only car. Without a vehicle, I cannot reliably get my children to school, childcare, or medical appointments. A car isn’t just about convenience—it’s about safety, stability, and protecting my children.
I’m not asking for anything fancy—just a safe, reliable car that will allow me to move forward in peace. My birthday wish this year, as I step into Chapter 33, is to begin this new life with security, stability, and hope for better days.
Goal: $3,000
Purchase of a reliable used car
Title, registration, and insurance
Basic maintenance and emergency costs
Every share, every donation, every act of kindness helps me and my children move one step closer to freedom and stability. Thank you for helping us step into Chapter 33 with light, peace, and love.
