Hi everyone! My name is Noel quinn and I am raising money for my step dad Dave Rabenstien’s recovery. He will not be able to work for a couple of months and my mom will not be working for awhile because she is taking care of him.
Police eye witnesses account of crime;
On Father’s Day, Sunday June 20th around 5pm, Dave was delivering pizza for dominos at the 3400 block of List Place in Minneapolis, he went to the apartment buildings stairs(approximately 5ft away), and the car was still running as the vehicle has anti theft keyless ignition (Dave keeps the remote key in his pocket), a 20 something year old male jumped into the car, Daves instinct kicked in and he ran after it, the car went down a dead end and turned around, Dave stepped off the curb waiving his hands for the assailant to stop and was then struck by the his stolen SUV and was thrown and ran over.. they hit so hard that the air bags deployed causing the car to crash into an embankment so it is totalled. The assailant then ran into a near by waiting car with someone else as the driver and got away. Eye witnesses got plate information and we found out that car was stolen too. Eye witnesses called 911 and stayed with him as Dave was unconscious when paramedics arrived.
His injuries are on the left side of his body; he has a concussion, bump on the head, scrapped face, bruised jaw, eye stitches. A muscle tear in his right side ribs, a L1 compound fracture in his back. A broken wrist which they reset immediately in the ICU and had surgery on it on 6/23 and he now has a titanium plate and 11 screws in his wrist. He has a contained chip in his lower knee and huge hematoma below his left knee. His leg, L1 compound fracture & concussion issues have caused him bed ridden only being able to get out of bed to use the bathroom/shower and go to doctors appointments.
I am heartbroken that my dad almost got murdered. We are seeking any information about the crime and/ or persons involved, pleading for anyone to come forward to help our family heal, since we are the ones suffering the damaged from one criminals actions. We have our SUV in our driveway, since the impound lot had it up for auction and insurance legal battles could take months.
