The sudden death of our Australian dream means we have to go home, and we need help taking our furry little piece of Australia with us!
We have sold everything we own to pay for our wedding, but can't afford the cost of flying our beautiful Australian Kelpie x heeler, Bandit, back with us to the spring snows of sunny England. It is breaking our hearts and we want to keep our commitment to him to love and care for him until he is a happy old dog in our home.
We've lived and worked in Australia for 3.5 years, but my partner Tom was recently made redundant because his company and sponsor conveniently forgot that he was tied to them, and sold up without securing his future, just 5 months before we were able to transition into permanent residency.
It has all been devastating, having to give up our life, friends, connections and work here with no notice. But none compare to the pain of having to give up our fur child.. Because they really do weedle their way into your heart, and had we been financially ready for this, he would have been our top priority having his forever home with us.
Even if he wasn't ours, Bandit has the biggest character I've seen in a dog. He is cheeky, cuddly, independent, super duper curious and knows that hes damn gorgeous to look at. He loves the Aussie outdoors and lays in the sun, so a little furry jacket will have to accompany him back to help with the shock! He knows our neighbours names and runs over to greet them before we even get there, and will give anyone who walks by a vigorous wag, and an endless game of Frisbee if you've got the time!
Bandit was a gift to us by the very kind farmers of charters towers who we volunteered for. He is a perfect little reminder of the resilient and hard working people of the outback that keep this country fed and on its feet.
Please help us bring him home with us, any small amount helps. He is only 2 years old, and knowing he'll be there for the next 10 years will be the best wedding present we could ask for!
