Hi everyone, I am starting this fundraiser to help my good friends, Lance and Stephanie Nelson. Lance is Stephanie’s (Hummer) husband, he has been in the hospital in Brainerd, MN since 06/09/21. Many of you know that both Lance and Stephanie are in real estate; this translates to, “not being able to work means, no income.” Stephanie has been diligently by Lance’s side while doctors are trying to figure out what is causing his mysterious illness.
At this time, the facilities in Brainerd are no longer able to give Lance and Stephanie answers. Therefore, Lance needs to be transferred to a facility with specialists who are able to perform further in-depth testing to accurately diagnose and treat his severe symptoms.
UPDATE 6/21/2021
The transfer was finally approved and Lance arrived via ambulance at the U in Minneapolis late Friday night. A team of doctors and nurses is working around the clock to try and keep Lance comfortable and to continue looking for answers. With liver functions returning to normal they decided a liver biopsy was not needed and instead focused their efforts on autoimmune and infectious diseases. As of June 20th they are thinking they have ruled out an infection and have suggested that this may be something call Adult Onset Still's disease. Lance still suffers from severe joint pain and fevers which makes it difficult to rest for long periods of time.
My goal with this fundraiser is to alleviate some of the stressors of their finances during this unsure time.
