Robert & Cassaundra Tickell (51-44yo respectively)

Robert has stage 3 aggressive muscle invasive bladder cancer
Fired from his job on 9/11/17
Had 4 cycles of chemotherapy starting from July to October.
Surgery to remove bladder, kidney, prostate, lymph nodes. Many complications/hospitalizations after surgery.
Pathology reports showed that the cancer had spread to his lymph node. He originally had a 4cm mass removed from his bladder in early June. When he had his surgery in December not only had the tumor returned but was 1 cm larger than the first.
Due to the aggressive nature of the cancer we were told it will return and was given the option to take part in a randomized study at Georgetown University with hopes that he would receive the treatment arm instead of the placebo. Luckily, he did and started immunotherapy in March.
He had the surgery in December, the surgeon left a needle in his abdomen but said it was too risky to get it out. His last hospitalization was the end of April after having to be admitted at least every week to every other week since his initial discharge on December 24.
The immunotherapy also causes many side effects. It’s called PEMBROLIZUMAB or Keytruda. Robert was formerly a construction manager but because of the side effects, he can’t return to work at this time. So Cassaundra has been caring for her husband and daughter during this time leaving her unable to work. They do receive help from the county, but it’s just not enough to pay their mortgage, bills, gas to get to school or doctors appointments or even eat sometimes.
They are actively facing foreclosure on their home. They have very little family and if they lose the house they will have nowhere to go. They literally can’t answer their phones if they are unknown numbers or answer the door to unexpected guest because of the overwhelming amount of debt collectors.
If you can help in anyway for this family it will be greatly appreciated.
