Tanzania Volunteer Trip 2013

I'll open my letter by giving a brief summary of what has been going on in my life since graduating from high school. I am currently finishing my sophomore year at the University of Florida and cant believe how quickly the time is passing! My major is Pre-Nursing with a 3.89 GPA and this past fall I became a member Kappa Delta Sorority and joined the UF Equestrian Team.

This summer I am going on an international volunteer trip to Arusha, Tanzania and I will be volunteering in an orphanage for two weeks during the month of June. Earlier this year I watched a video about the poverty and hardships that so many children are faced with due to circumstances they have no control over, so I made the decision to start researching different companies that provide programs for people interested in international volunteer work. A few years ago my father had the opportunity to take the trip of a lifetime to Tanzania and ever since then I have been interested in that beautiful country. When I found a program that has a location in Tanzania I knew that it was meant to be. I believe that I can make a difference while volunteering, as well as learn so much about a completely new culture.

I am so excited for this amazing opportunity and I am determined to make it happen. I am sharing this with you is because I would like to share this news with you as well as ask for a small favor. As you can probably imagine, this trip (although reasonably priced) is not cheap and it would mean more than you can imagine if you could send a small donation my way. I have learned through life that everything, no matter how small, counts and can make a difference, one of the reasons I want to make this trip in the first place. Of course I completely understand if you choose not to donate! I would also greatly appreciate it if you could forward this message to anyone you think that might be interested in my trip.
