Jah Orah's recovery & expenses

Donation protected

Greetings friends and family.
As you may have heard, our brother, Jah Orah (aka Robert Gilliam), an avid bike rider and long time contributor of artistic culture, was recently the victim of a violent crime while riding his bike in St. Louis, MO. We are looking to the community, asking for help in helping him raise the funds he will need to pay for his hospital bills, supplies, time lost from work, and much needed physical therapy. Anything you can give would be helpful and go directly towards getting him mobile again.

Here's his description of his experience:

"Saturday night 7/9/16, at around 11:00pm I was out riding my bike , going north on Vandervender towards the cross street Kings Highway. I slowed down and stopped to make a text when all of a sudden I was approached by a black BMW that had a car full of teenagers in it. I counted 4 teenaged boys. From the back seat passengers side I heard one of the boys ask me to give him my back pack, so I took out my ear buds and asked him what he said, then he said, "I said give me you mf back pack before I blast on yo ass" and pointed a silver hand gun at me. Soon as I saw the gun I started pedaling fast to try and get away , they were to the left of me driving and pointing the gun saying "GET HIM!!! GET THAT NIGGA!!!" ...

I took a side street to try and get away from the lane. They got behind me and started to CHASE me for several blocks. They stayed behind me so I stayed on the drivers side to prevent from getting shot and rode across Kings Highway and got on a side walk. I thought they would leave me alone at that point so I tried to make a right turn into a alley to get away from it all and thats when they sped up and hit me with their car at full speed . The front right hand side of their BMW hit me and my bike, causing me to fly in the air onto the top of the hood and windshield, knocking off the right side rear view mirror over the car and onto a alley fence then to the ground.

As I attempted to get up the boy with the gun got out of the BMW pointing it at my face and tried to attack me again but the driver told him to get back in the car. They sped off to the end of the alley where they waited for a moment . As I made it to my feet I saw my bike was destroyed the handle bars were completely snapped in half and the rear view mirror glass car parts.

I realized I was very hurt when I tried to walk and fell to one knee as my clavicle was broken and my backpack was still on . They hit me so hard I lost a shoe and my Beanie was knocked off my head . I had road rash on my right knee cap and pack of my right shoulder from falling glass and dirt and two very badly sprained feet. I called my lady friend for help and they called the police and ambulance.

No assistance ever arrived so she came with her mother to drive me to the hospital where I spent 4 days and nights getting tetanus shots and antibiotics and pain meds blood drawn and IV bags of saline before surgery to my completely fractured right clavicle bone ( I'm right handed) with plates and screws and stitches. I will need therapy after my healing is complete to bring back the mobility in my right arm, neck and shoulder. "

Again, any and all donations will be accepted.
