Sam Brigman Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Please help my best friend from high school—Vicki, whom Maeve I just visited in Florida. They are at their wits' end about all this and are too proud to ask for help, although they need the help immensely.
Vicki's husband, Sam Brigman (pictured on the right) was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on March 17th, 2016. Presently he is able to be home as an outpatient after spending over 6 weeks in the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The VA has been super in their care of him and are working with the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. The co-pays are low for the VA, but Moffitt is more specialized for his AML and is more expensive.
After his third 7 day cycle is complete that begins July 14th; Sam will receive another bone marrow biopsy on August 4th at Moffitt. If his biopsy shows blasts of leukemia below 5%, a donor will be located and a transplant procedure can begin. Sam will spend 30 full days in the hospital during and after the transplant. Vicki will be trained in watching for any signs of rejection in Sam from the donor's blood. They will have to be housed near the hospital for another 60 days.
If the VA finds the donor and has a bed for him, they will be in Nashville at Vanderbilt for the 90 days. The VA covers the housing and travel but not amenities and the ongoing rent and utilities for their place in Florida. If Moffitt has a bed for Sam first, the copay is $10,700 for the transplant.
Vicki quit her job April 28, 2016 to become his full time caregiver. Driving the 28 miles one way with Sam to each appointment and is by his side during his 7 day cycles of IV chemo. They have been living on Sam's social security which covers the rent and have been withdrawing Vicki's retirement at a 10% tax penalty for utilities, food, gas...etc.
Please include Sam in your prayers and monetary contributions, regardless of how small. Many small contributions add up quickly.
We all thank you in advance, for anything you can do to help.
Have a blessed day and live life to the fullest!
