Yoga to Empower!

Donation protected

Family and Friends,

For those of you who know me, you are likely aware of my passion for yoga. You may also know that I found yoga after a devastating life change - the loss of my sister, Carinne.  It was during that time that I realized that my life needed to change, that I needed to love my life and everything in it because it could suddenly be gone.  Carinne taught me that and I am forever grateful.  She also taught me that only I could make me happy.

After we lost her, I found yoga as a means to heal and find my happiness.  It was through the power of yoga that I saw a life I wanted to live.  For much of my life, I let the expectations of others dictate what my life was supposed to be about.  But I soon learned that I could truly step into my personal power once I expanded my own knowing of what I CAN and CANNOT do.  So, I quit my job in sports sponsorship and began studying yoga.  I was practicing nearly every day and through it began seeing who I truly am at my core and what I am capable of.  I felt more grounded and light than I had felt since childhood.  I saw what was possible for me in my life.  I followed this passion and enrolled in my first teacher training with the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute.  I fell even more in love with the practice and saw the transformative nature that it embodies.  I have been teaching this Baptiste tradition of yoga ever since and am ready and excited to share it with my new community, NEW ORLEANS!

New Orleans is a city known for its revelry.  Though this lifestyle tempts much of its people (and tourists), a healthier, brighter way of being is what I want to continue to create.  After moving here nearly seven months ago, I soon realized that change is on the horizon for the City and its vibrant community.  Through community yoga events, workshops and Baptiste-inspired classes, I am well on my way to making a difference in New Orleans.

After several years of teaching and training, I am seeking my Baptiste Power Yoga certification, which will come shortly after I complete my next level of Baptiste training in Tulum, Mexico.

However, I can't do any of this without you "“ my sponsors. Please help me reach my goal of raising $3,500 for this transformative training (tuition, travel and housing).  Asking for money is difficult for me.  I am appreciative of any amount you can share. You can donate online securely through this donation page.

"The Baptiste Yoga practice and programs are designed to empower people with the focus, training and insight they need to achieve consistent results in the most important areas of their lives. A potent physical yoga practice, meditation practice and active self inquiry are used as tools of transformation "“ encouraging participants to reclaim their full potential, discover creativity, awaken passion, create authenticity, confidence and new possibilities.

Baron Baptiste and the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute (BPYI) offer world-class yoga instruction adapting the practices and processes to individual needs and talents "“ placing emphasis on clear language and a strategic technique that makes Baptiste Yoga accessible to everyone regardless of fitness level, age, experience or background.

The Baptiste training methodology turns out high impact yoga teachers who become empowered leaders in their communities and who live inspired lives of contribution. Upon engaging in the Baptiste practice and methodology you enter a partnership that will give you your true growing edge, but you must step up as well.

Living the practice and using the tools of Baptiste Yoga you can truly experience the powerful momentum that comes from living life at the peak. The distinctions, practices and tools of Baptiste Yoga supercharge those aspects of yourself and your life where you are already able and successful and produce breakthroughs in power and ability where your vitality and way of being has been less than optimal."

I wish nothing more than to spread these messages to the people of New Orleans and to the people who need it most; people like my sister, Carinne.  I can only imagine the life she could lead with such encouraging and nourishing support.

I know there are others with their own story of struggle, pain, strength and gratitude.  I have participated in many yoga trainings before, but this is the first time I am engaging in something bigger than myself; the first time I am seeking knowledge to help make a difference in the lives of those who need it - those who desperately seek change, transformation and growth.

Additionally, if you or anyone you know has been touched by suicide, bipolar disorder or depression, please send me their name. I will be honored to dedicate a class I teach or a workshop I lead to that person, in memory, in support or in love.

Thank you in advance for your support! It means more to me than I know how to express.

Sincerely and gratefully,

Janae
