We are long time friends of Dave and Kim, having known Dave for over 30 years. Dave suffered a severe stroke on July 4, 2016. He is currently at a rehabilitaion facilty fighting everyday to get back to his family. His long term prognosis is not yet known.
Dave is a man who truely gives from the heart. He has been married for 23 years to Kim. They have a blended family consisting of five children, four grandchildren and a mother in law.
Dave is a retired Bay Village Police Officer who still works part-time to serve and protect his own community( 33 total years of service) . He recently got a job as a building inspector with the City of Avon, Ohio. Unfortunately, due to his short time with Avon, Dave will soon run out of sick time and will no longer receive a paycheck. While the City of Avon is doing everything they can, Dave and Kim need your help.
Dave's oldest daughter Amie was in a car accident in 2003 and left permanently disabled with a young son, Nate. Dave and Kim assist Amie with daily living and support. Dave's oldest stepdaughter, Courtney was in a car accident in 2009. Courtney was killed, leaving behind two young children, Colton and McKenna. Dave and Kim have custody of Colton and McKenna. Dave takes care of four generations under his roof, including his mother-in-law, him and his wife, their son and two of their grandchildren.
Dave has solely provided the families income so Kim is able to raise their own children, their two grandchildren and take care of her mother, Mary Jane, who suffers from alhzheimers.
Dave and Kim continue to give selflessly of themselves in order to give love and support unconditionally to their family members. Donations will be used for uncovered medical expenses, daily living expenses and their mortgage until Dave is able to return work. These donations will allow a wonderful blended family to stay together in their own home and support each other through what has been a tragic series of events in their lives.
