Brad was enjoying the good life: an avid sportsman on a men’s basketball team (Bad Brad! his friends dubbed him), and looking forward to another visit from his adorable young grandkids, when suddenly he was struck down by Non-Hodgskin's stage 4 lymphoma.
This debilitating disease has left Brad very sick, lethargic, and continually combating various other unpleasant symptoms. It has drained him of vital energy, keeping him from being able to work or continue his normal life activities. His loving wife, Sally, has had to see to his critical needs during this trying time for them both.
Brad has just started treatment, which is 8 rounds of Chemotherapy, 6 hours long at a time, (which has its own set of drastic symptoms) and the regular injection of steroids as well. Lymphoma or lymphatic cancer is thus the term given to the group of cancers in the lymphatic system, occurring when some of the white immune cells, called lymphocytes, become abnormal and malignant. Non-Hodgkin´s stage 4 lymphoma can be cured, but will require a lifelong lifestyle change.
The emotional, physical, mental, and financial effects of all of this has been quite devastating, and requires a call for help, on all levels, for those of you who consider yourself friends of this wonderful couple, who we all know and love dearly.
This unexpected turn of events brings with it all sorts of consequences that Brad and Sally have no control over, but have to deal with regardless: emotional overload, fear for the future, impact on other family members and friends, and of course, financial strain, including medical bills, treatment expenses,, high insurance deductibles all this and more take a toll on an already challenging situation.
Yet, so much love and light has come their way from the many worried friends and family, and it is greatly appreciated!! We implore you to continue your prayers for Brad and his family, and hope you will “Stand by Brad” in any way you can. The smallest prayer, the tiniest act of kindness, any contribution of any amount is welcome, and thanks is extended with great sincerity and deep gratitude, from both Brad and Sally, and all of us who are rooting for him every day.
