Help us with healing and Mia’s recovery

Hello everyone, as very independent people this is very hard for us to ask for a helping hand. 

A lot of you have followed Mia’s journey since day one. For those of you who haven’t, she’s a miracle baby and is now faced with yet another challenge. 

Mia was born January 27, 2011 at 26 weeks. She was due in May, but complications happen and an emergency c-section was ordered and our Miracle Baby was born. 

She had her ups and downs in the hospital, but was blessed with a clean bill of health and was able to come home 3 months later around her due date. 

Ten years later we’re faced with another challenge. Mia was taken in for a checkup and to look into testing for learning disorders. After going through a MRI to investigate a different issue, we received the news. What was found was a nightmare no parent wishes to hear, a white spot on her brain.

For the last two years we’ve monitored it closely, including during the craziness of covid. During the pandemic, I, Sean-Mikael, lost my job due to COVID layoffs, lost my second source of income and we ran a tight budget. I was blessed with a new job, but with a new job starts new days off counter. I’ll be taking days off without pay for her surgery and to aid in her recovery when my wife can’t. 

Mia will have surgery in June to remove the tumor and after we leave the hospital the healing begins. Mia’s recovery time will be about four weeks and we will be stretched beyond our budgeting with two kids and no more paid time off. 

At this point we’re asking for anything to help out a bit. It’s definitely hard to ask, but right now unusual times call for unusual measures.
