Dear Friends,
God has given us the unique opportunity to help someone who has united hundreds of families through adoption. For those of us who have adopted through Bethany Christian Svcs in Ethiopia, Abel is a household name. We have all been touched by him and his tireless desire to serve orphans, families and his country through various ministries. He has guided our families, translated thousands of conversations, comforted our children, bartered in shops, navigated traffic, prayed, searched, visited birth families, taught us culture, sacrificed time with his own family and loved sacrificially in a way few of us have ever experienced. Although he is just a man, he has become revered in our adoption world because of his immeasurable love for God, orphans and Ethiopia.
I don't think any of us have ever imagined that we would have the opportunity to repay the gifts he has given each of our families. But we can.
He and Hanna have made the very hard decision to make a life in the US so that he can be close to his family.
Abel is here but Hanna and Eliyana are still in Ethiopia until he is able to establish a home for his family here.They are sacrificing time together now in order to secure a better future for their family.
This is where we can help. He needs to complete many steps before they will be able to come. Steps that require time and money. So we are going to adopt Abel and his family and we hope you'll join us. We all know the cost of adoption. We all also know we serve a mighty, generous God. We know that when the amount seemed insurmountable, God provided. So we are boldly asking for prayer and provision for Abel and his family. Provision for a car, establishing a home, travel to see his family.
First and foremost, pray for Abel and Hanna. Pray for a job where Abel can use the gifts God has clearly given him. Where he can still serve Ethiopia in some way. Pray that the immigration process would be smooth. Pray for their hearts as they live for a year or more apart. And then please consider giving.
Finally, share this on your page. Share your stories of Abel and how God used him to grow your families. Give your friends and family the opportunity to know him as we do, to pray and to give.
