My name is Agape Preister and I am 11 years old. I live in New York City with my family. I am a huge sports fan and I love playing basketball as well as track and field. I have been training extremely hard this past year for the 2016 outdoor track and field season. I am a proud member of the USATF organization (United States Association for Track and Field). I am an unattached athlete, which means that I am not part of any particular team. I compete in the 11-12 year age group.
This season my goal was to participate in the Junior Olympic Championships at Icahn Stadium NYC. I continued to do well and qualified for Region 1 (North East) Championships held in Albany NY this weekend. I came in second in high jumping and fifth in long jumping.
This is where it gets a bit challenging for me and my family. Little did we know that I would further succeed in Albany and qualify for the coveted (believe it or not, even in my age group) National Junior Olympics held in Sacramento California, July 26th - 31st. We only have about two weeks to raise funds for me so that I can travel and represent New York in Sacramento this summer.
Getting here has been an awesome experience so far and I'm very proud of myself for all of the hard work I've put in my training. This is only the beginning and it would mean a world to me to have my family, friends and the community become part of this journey with me. I would be eternally grateful of any donations and each shared link and be assured every single donation will go towards travel, accomodations, food as well as the entry fees for the event.
I will include a link to my facebook page where you will be able see snippets and clips of training and events I've been a part of this season. Hope you enjoy then
Thank you, Agape & family
