Hope for Keela

Donation protected
On 12/1/15 I received the news that I would be the next K-9 officer for the Wetumpka Police Department. When I arrived to meet my K-9 partner, Keela who I didn't know would forever change my life. Keela and I have been together everyday for the last 7 months. On 7/6/16 I noticed that something about her had changed. She wasn't herself. On 7/8/16 I took Keela to Bryson for a check up and everything physical seemed okay. 7/9/16 Keela started to have very bad moments and I made the call to rush her to Auburn Veterinarian Hospital to get the very best treatment. When we got there, they examined her and knew she was having problems. With being a small department I knew the cost of treatment would be very high and might be something the department could not fund. I made the call to my Cheif and without hesitating he gave the go ahead. Keela has had many tests and Auburn has diagnosed her with epilepsy so far. She will receive medicine and if it works she will have to take medicine which can be pretty pricey. If it doesn't work, then we are back to square one. With the test that have already been given, plus more to come the bill is becoming overwhelming. I know it hasn't been brought up but I fear it might. If money runs out so does testing. Keela gives everything she has day in and day out, never asking for anything in return except for to be loved and feed. I don't want her to be denied anything. She never once has denied myself nor anyone in the town of giving her very best. Since Keela started working she has gotten great amounts of illegal drugs off the streets. She has touched so many lives and everyone has grown to love her. If you ever have the chance to meet her you will understand the joy she brings. I'm starting this go fund me account because I feel it's my duty as her partner but more so because she is family. She is still not in the clear but there is a light at the end of the tunnel now. I set the goal to where it is for the tests that have been done and the tests to come, along with the medicine she will have to take if it works. I'm doing this aside from the department. They have put their faith in us and anything I can do I will. I would like to thank you in advance for any donations that are given. Keela is not just a dog, she walks the thin blue line. Her spirit just brings joy to anyone around. I want to bring my Partner home. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
