Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting my GoFundMe page. I have been accepted to the Expressive Arts Therapy certificate program at Langara College in Vancouver and I ask for your help in funding this educational endeavour. Due to prior student debt I am unable to afford tuition. This program is a two year, part time Continuing Studies program and is not eligible for a Canada Student Loan. The few scholarships I have found to possibly apply for would be applied to tuition for the second year of the program. Once I move to Vancouver, I'm confident that I can find a
job to cover my living expenses but I need help to cover tuition and associated expenses for the first year.
Expressive Arts Therapy is an arts-based therapy training program with an emphasis on visual arts, theatre/drama, and movement. This program only accepts 12 students a year and I feel very honoured to have been chosen to participate. I have a lifelong love of art and dance/body awareness and I see this training as a very practical way to turn those passions into meaningful work that can help others. A breakdown of costs:
First Term (Sept "“ Dec): $2,495 (All or 50% to be paid by the end of June in order to keep my spot)
Second Term (Jan - Apr): $2,677
Third Term (May - Jun): $285
(Overall first year tuition: $5,457)
Required 20hrs of Individual Therapy throughout the first year of the program: $1200 (assumes a cost of $60 per session)
Textbooks and art supplies: $300
