Help Elizabeth Fight Lymphoma

My name is Elizabeth. One week after graduating from Lewisville High School in June 2016 I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma.
My journey began on June 13 when I discovered a swollen lump on my collar bone. I immediately told my parents and I went to see my pediatrician. That afternoon they took xrays and a sonogram done of my shoulder. The very next day I was sitting at the Oncology waiting room at Children's Medical Center waiting to hear if I had cancer. I had my passport in hand, ready to go on my European graduation trip the very next day and was told I would not be able to go. Later that week I was in the operating room getting a biopsy done of my swollen lymph node where it was immediately determined that I had Hodgkins Lymphoma. While I was still under, they placed a device under my skin to administer my chemo. When I woke up, I then realized that this was real and I really did have cancer. After several weeks of tests and more tests, I began chemotherapy the first week in July. It is a long 6 months ahead of treatment, going back and forth to the hospital weekly and will continue my Freshman year in college to the best of my ability.

Through the tough road ahead there will be alot of medical and non-medical expenses that will put a strain on our family. I will be withdrawing the money on behalf of Elizabeth and placing them in her college fund account. The money raised will be used for her medical bills, transportation, and other expenses that come along the way in treating her cancer.
We are so grateful to all of our friends and family and to the great staff at Children's Medical Center Dallas. Liz hopes to one day come back and return her gratitude upon graduation as a volunteer for the Children's Oncology Clinic.
